A boomer online party game about the good years

Most party games written for older players are patronizing. This one is not. It plays online with no small print to squint at, and it runs on the decade nobody talks about at family dinners: the commune, the van with curtains, the office affair in 1979, and the neighbor's wife in the hot tub.

Then it runs on what came after: the urologist who knows you by name, the condo board, the grandchild who found the drawer, and the retirement community rumor mill.

What a round looks like

One player is the judge. Everyone else gets a prompt on their screen and selects the best card in their hand to match the prompt. The judge reads the submissions out loud and picks their favorite. The person who played that card gets a point. Then the judge role moves to the next player and you go again.

Prompt

What ruined the anniversary cruise?

Three answers in

A woman in every port, allegedly
A tennis club scandal
My name on a massage parlor receipt
Crown this one

The winner takes the point and the judge role moves to the next player. The full rules cover scoring, bots and pass and play.

Playing it at a reunion

Three to eight players and no small print to squint at, because the cards appear on your own phone at whatever text size you use. Everyone joins with a QR code, so there is nothing to shuffle and nothing to lose under the couch.

It works at a reunion, a retirement party, a cruise cabin, or a long evening at the lake house. Ten minutes to an hour, set by the host.

Real cards from the virtual deck

Every pack holds hundreds of cards, so the prompts and answers keep landing in combinations nobody saw coming. Mix packs together and there is more than enough for a whole night without the deck ever repeating itself.

Prompt

My first marriage ended over .

A key party nobody talks about
My waterbed and what it witnessed
A private investigator my wife hired
A motel room paid in cash

Each game has an option of 5, 10 and 15 rotations.

When to play the boomer party game

Written for the people who were actually there, not by somebody guessing. It works two ways: with the kids and grandkids at the table, or with the friends who were around at the time.

Playing with your parents The pack your mom and dad will actually get, because the references are theirs. Fair warning that they will know more than you do.
Family get together Three generations in one room and nobody with anything to say after dinner. The parents win most rounds, which is half the fun.
Retirement party For the person who has finally stopped, surrounded by people who know exactly what they got up to.
Reunion School, work or the old neighbourhood. Everyone remembers the same decade and most of it is unprintable.
Dinner party with old friends The couples who have known each other for forty years and stopped being polite about it a long time ago.
A big birthday or an anniversary A room of adults who do not need protecting from anything.

A free boomer card game, explicit only

This pack comes in the Explicit version only. Adult humor, no filter, written for a table of grown adults with the door shut.

Every version of the game is free. There is no card limit, no trial and nothing to buy. See the other games or read how to play.
